"My fascination is with the mystery and the beauty of this world around us.  I have a sign in my room which reminds me daily that 'We are walking in a sea of miracles.'  I am not so interested in making a realistic representation as to communicate some of my vision and excitement - to make the canvas sing with the revitalizing power I feel in nature.  That is what is in me to do.  Each painting and subject seems to call up its own feelings & treatment."

Addicted to painting en plein air wherever she is, Sally  paints often in oils and pastels along coastal Carolina, the Blue Ridge Mountains and whenever good luck allows in Jackson Hole, Scotland, France, and Italy.   Seeking to reflect this revitalizing power, she utilizes expressive color, light, and shape in a sometime impressionistic style.  Her 54th one-woman exhibit opens in 2023.

Her children's book, Rosebud Roams Charleston, captures the spirit and rich layers of Charleston for children of all ages.
